Associate Professor, Human and Organizational Development
James Fraser is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human and Organizational Development in Peabody College, and Affiliated Faculty in American Studies, Institute for Energy and the Environment, and Women’s and Gender Studies, and a Curb Public Scholar at Vanderbilt University. He was previously an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Geography and a Senior Associate Research at the Center for Urban and Regional Studies and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition he has served on the Graduate Faculty at Duke University. Dr. Fraser’s areas of specialty include urban and environmental geography. In particular, his work focuses on urban restructuring and governance, housing and neighborhood redevelopment, human dimension of environmental change, and social justice. His work has been supported with multiple National Science Foundation awards, contracts with government agencies including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Emergency Management.
